Founded in October 2006, Astronergy is led by an seasoned management team headed by Dr. Liyou Yang, a world-renowned expert in thin film PV technology.

Today, Astronergy produces single crystalline silicon solar cells with average conversion efficiency ≥ 16.5% and is quickly developing the requisite technology to manufacture amorphous/microcrystalline silicon tandem thin film PV (a-Si/μc-Si) modules with average conversion efficiency ≥ 9%. In the coming years, Astronergy will be among the first to reduce PV module cost to below US$1/Wp.

Astronergy is committed to reaching 380 MW production capacity by 2010 and becoming the world's leading thin film PV producer. We endeavor to contribute to a cleaner, better, and more sustainable world through low-cost renewable energy.
