MECAL has decided to focus on two stronghold markets of Semiconductor Industry and Wind Energy. That implied a shift from competence oriented consultancy engineering into market focussed supplier of R&D, Design & Engineering, as well as prototyping, and series production of products with a substantial knowledge content. MECAL always has been, and always will be a know how company. That is the key motivation to continue expanding and deepening our competences. And the motivation for employees, as they develop too.

MECAL has spread wings geographically towards its customers in the United States and in Asia, by establishing offices in Virginia and Tokyo. That is bridging differences in language and culture, as well as bridging between time zones and travel distances.

Currently some 100 employees are involved worldwide, all in small teams with dedicated leadership, aiming at contributing with their combined competences. Among the company's competences are mechanics, statics, fatigue analyses, load calculations, control algorithms, economical valuations, technical inspections and video endoscopy, construction supervision and yield optimisation, all in Wind Energy markets, and, in the micro- and nano world of enabling semiconductor manufacturing: conceptual design, simulation and dynamical analyses, thermo mechanical design and evaluation, computational fluid dynamics, mechatronics, optronics and optomechanics, fysical lens design and image recognition. In both markets MECAL succeeds in developing intellectual property both for customers, as well as for its own account. They measure the quality of their engineering work by the successfulness of it’s application.
