SOLVAY SOLEXIS is part of the SOLVAY group which is an international chemical and pharmaceutical Group with headquarters in Brussels. Solvay employs some 30,000 people in 50 countries. In 2005 its consolidated sales amounted to EUR 8.6 billion generated by its three activity sectors: Chemicals, Plastics and Pharmaceuticals.

Principal Business
In 2002, the Solvay Group acquired the assets of Ausimont, a fluorinated specialties manufacturer, from its parent, Montedison. As part of an overall business strategy and vision focusing on the core strengths of the expanded organization, Ausimont assets were joined with those of Solvay's fluoropolymer activities. Solvay Solexis products are Fluoro Fluids and Lubricants, Fluoro Elastomers and polymers as PTFE, PFA, MFA, ECTFE and PVDF.

PV activities
By their excellent and recognized UV resistance and electrical properties, Fluoromers are developing their position in the encapsulation technologies (backsheets and frontsheets) as well as in Li-Batteries application.
