Wuxi Wind Power Science&Technology Industrial Park
1. The Brief of Wuxi CityWuxi，a well-known historical and cultural city in China, known as the “Little Shanghai” in its history of more than 3000 years. The area is one of the cradles for China’s national industry and commerce, and also the birthplace of modern township enterprises as well as the “Wu” culture.
In 2008, the GDP of Wuxi reached 440 billion RMB which ranked 9th in China, the per capita GDP reached 10000 USD. It was at the top three among the best commercial cities in China by《FORBES》of 2008. The Wuxi Taihu Lake Reserve is “China’s Service Outsourcing Demonstration Zone” approved by China’s Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information Industry, Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Education. 2. The Profile of Huishan Economic Development Zone
Wuxi Huishan Economic Development Zone located at the northern part of Wuxi city, covering an area of 76 sq km, is the most important Sub-CBD and industry zone of Wuxi, and also it is the important manufacturing base in Wuxi. It is ranking high among economic sectors of the city. The GDP of the zone exceeded handurd of billion of RMB in 2008, the comprehensive strength tops sixth among “Top 100 Small-Middle Sized Commercial Cities in China”.
After five years of development, a new city is growing up in the northern part of Wuxi with multiple city functions of administration, economy, culture, scientific education, commerce and trade, leisure and entertainment. It is now the shining business card of northern Wuxi.
The Huishan Economic Development Zone Administrative Committee has long been concentrating on high quality and low costs with their working concept of “large space planning, multiple functional support and big community management”, thus the industrial structure of “Four Parks, Two Bases” is taking shape now, namely, the Software Service Outsourcing Park, the Digital Information Industrial Park, the Life Science & Technology Industrial Park, the Wind Power Science & Technology Industrial Park, the Advanced Manufacturing Industry Base and the Modern Service Industry Base. 3. The Planning of W-Park
The Wind Power Science & Technology Industrial Park which occupies an area of 3500 acreages with construction area of 1.9 million sq km will be built in the western part of Huishan New City by Huishan Economic Development Zone Administrative Committee.
The Industrial Park is located in the triangle area formed by Huning (Shanghai-Nanjing) highway, Xibei Canal and No.2 Xicheng road, it consisting of two parts: the Core Area which covering an area of 2700 acreages, with Huning highway to its north, South Circle Road to the south, No.2 Xicheng Road to the west and Yanqiao harbor to the east. The extended part occupies an area of 800 acreages, with South Circle Road to its north, Xibei canal to the south, No.2 Xicheng Road to the west and Yanqiao harbor to the east.
The Wind Power Science & Technology Industrial Park is focusing on new energy equipment manufacturing height by building a large scale and modern industrial park specialized in manufacturing of new energy equipments and components, and also with integrated function of R&D, incubating, trading and experiment. The module design concept has be adopted in order to fully realize the large scale development; and the new energy industry chain could be facilitated with the building of R&D center. All these efforts will pave the way for clean energy industry cluster and domestic new energy R&D and manufacturing base with competitive edges.
The industrial advantage could be achieved by integrating resources and adjusting structures on the basis of the current situation. The layout of new energy industrial base could be formed by manufacturing area, logistic area, R&D area and public service area according to their different functions.
