SULFURCELL Solartechnik GmbH
Sulfurcell has been manufacturing and developing thin-film solar modules based on chalcopyrite-type semiconductors (CIS/CIGSe) since 2003. As an industrial company in Berlin our origin is at the Hahn-Meitner-Institut, Europe’s largest research institute on thin-film photovoltaics. To date technological leadership as well as continuous improvement of our products have been our principal goals. Driven by entrepreneurs the company is supported by renowned private equity investors and strategic partners such as Intel Capital, Climate Change Capital and the BEU fund owned by GDF SUEZ and Vattenfall Europe.Sulfurcell modules feature an unobtrusive and homogeneous outward appearance and meet the highest aesthetic expectations. They are ideally suited for integrating into buildings. For Sulfurcell, building with solar modules instead of passive building materials represents the construction method of the future! In October 2009, Sulfurcell will enter mass production by raising its annual production capacity to 35 MW and in a second step to75 MW.
