German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA)

The German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) is entered in the City of Bonn associations register. The DWA fulfils solely and directly non-profit making purposes. The organs of the DWA are:

The members’ meeting
The managing board
The presiding committee


The advisory committee of the DWA accompanies the work of the presiding committee and the managing board in an advisory capacity. In order to implement the tasks of the DWA at federal and regional levels, the DWA operates from its national headquarters and seven separate regional associations.

The advice and the solutions to subject-related questions are the responsibility of the main committees formed by the managing board. With the approval of the presiding committee, these main committees can form special committees to complete their duties, which in turn can form working groups to deal with questions requiring the assistance of experts in a particular field. All members of the main and expert committees, as well as the working groups, serve on a voluntary basis.
