Stiftung Familienunternehmen (The Family Business Foundation) pursues three central goals in accordance with its bylaws: namely promoting the exchange of family businesses; supporting research activities and institutions which concern themselves particularly with this special type of business and, last but not least, improving the perception and acceptance of family businesses in politics and the general public.

To do this, studies are regularly compiled in the context of family businesses and the development of corresponding teaching and research institutions is supported. To raise the awareness of family businesses amongst the general public, the foundation has been working with leading German journalists’ schools for some years and supports the ongoing reporting of the media. In addition, the foundation is a contact point for political decision-makers to take into account the special concerns of this type of business with respect to legal, fiscal and economic issues.
