Global Wind Energy Council

The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is an association which mission is to ensure that wind power establishes itself as one of the world's leading energy source.

GWEC is the voice of the global wind energy sector, and provides a credible and representative forum for the entire wind energy sector at the international level. It brings together the major national, regional and continental associations representing the wind power sector, and the leading international wind energy companies and institutions. Its combined membership of over 1,500 companies, organisations and institutions in more than 50 countries covers hardware manufacture, project development, power generation, finance and consultancy, as well as researchers, academics and associations. The members of GWEC represent all of the world’s major wind turbine manufacturers and 99 % of the world’s installed capacity of more than 100MW.

GWEC’s mission is to ensure that wind power establishes itself as one of the world’s leading energy sources, providing substantial environmental and economic benefits. The main objective of is to promote the development and growth of wind energy around the world through policy development, business leadership, global outreach, information and education.
