Nordex

Nordex is a pioneer in the use of wind energy. Founded in Denmark in 1985, the company has 24 years of experience in developing and producing modern wind turbines.

After setting up factories in Germany, Nordex expanded internationally at an incredible rate. Today, the former German exporter of high-tech turbines has become a global player with offices and subsidiaries in 18 countries worldwide. The Nordex Group holding company is based in Europe and controls three independently operating regional companies: Nordex Europe, Nordex China and Nordex USA. In total, the Group employs about 2,200 people worldwide.

From the outset, Nordex has focused on large-scale, powerful turbines and has been a constant driver of innovation. The current product range includes one of the largest series of wind turbines in the world (N80/N90/N100 2.5 MW). More than 3,800 Nordex systems with a total rated output of more than 5,200 MW are already rotating in 34 countries around the world. Nordex has a current production capacity of 1,350 MW/year, which will be expanded to around 4,500 MW/year by 2012.

Nordex has been listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange since 2001. For four years now, the Group has increased revenues by an average of 50 percent per year. In 2008, Nordex had a business volume of more than EUR 1.2 billion and is aiming to increase this to above EUR 1.2 billion in the current year.
