ACCIONA Energía is the energy division of ACCIONA, an integrated business group with a focus on operations with high added value that enable it to create synergies and make profitable investments in strategic sectors.

ACCIONA Energía is present in the main clean energies, in line with their different levels of maturity and profitability. It focuses its activities on wind power, in which it is the largest developer and constructor of wind parks and the seventh largest manufacturer of wind turbines in the world. By mid-2008, ACCIONA Energía has installed almost 200 wind farms in the world with a combined capacity of 5,400 MW, of which 4,000 are owned by the company. It is developing wind energy projects that add up to tens of thousands of MW. It is also the leading company in solar energy, with the highest capacity concentrated solar power plant in the world in the last 17 years and the photovoltaic plant with the largest capacity in the world, in Portugal. It has three biomass plants in operation and another seven currently being developed, as well as 19 small hydro power stations, a biodiesel plant and a bioethanol plant. In the field of industrial wind power, it manufactures wind turbines using in-house technology.

ACCIONA Energía is currently carrying out research projects to produce hydrogen from wind power, to manufacture more efficient wind turbines and to optimize the production of biofuels. The company has a workforce of over 1,000 people, one of the biggest and most highly qualified in the clean energies field.
