European Renewable Energy Council

Created on 13 April 2000, the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) is the umbrella organisation of the European renewable energy industry, trade and research associations active in the sectors of bioenergy, geothermal, ocean, small hydropower, solar electricity, solar thermal and wind energy. EREC represents thus 30 billion € turnover and provides jobs to around 350.000 people.

EREC is composed of the following non-profit associations and federations:

EREC is committed to: (1) act as a forum for exchange of information and discussion on issues related to renewables as well as to represent the European RES industry & research community; (2) provide information and consultancy on renewable energies for the political decision makers on local, regional, national and international levels; (3) launch policy initiatives for the creation of positive frameworks for renewable energy sources; and (4) promote European technologies, products and services on global markets.
