Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Corporation Ltd (XEMC). was founded in 1936. With development of seven decades nearly, it has been the domestic manufacture and R&D base for the significant technology and equipment of China, and a pointed defense equipment manufacturing base. It enjoys the reputation of “Cradle of Chinese Machinery and Electric Products”. More than 1000 items of new products have been developed successively early and later, among which 100 items are the first production in China of significant and important new products, such as the first ship use electric propulsion equipment, the first complete set of metro vehicle motor and electric equipment, the first set of 108t motorized wheel dump truck, the first urban light rail vehicle. In recent years XEMC concentrate on playing the three core technological superiority of electric traction, ship electric propulsion technology and motor vehicle manufacture technology to forge some key products such as electric machine, pump, heavy equipment, urban mass transit vehicle, wind power generator electric lift and ceramic machinery, achieving sustained, rapid, healthy and stable development. The total invested assets of the corporation sums up to 7.3 billion yuan (RMB), 5 branch companies, 6 full-funded subsidiary companies, 9 holding companies and 9 invested companies. The company was listed publicly on Jul. 18, 2002 by issuing stocks of "XD Shares"75 million A shares in SSEA. It is the first adopted listed Corporation in Hunan province. In November 2006, the Corporation Refinance the first time, a total of 331.2 million yuan RMB fund.
