Offshore Wind China Exhibition (Shanghai, China)
From 2010-06-08 to 2010-06-10
Offshore Wind China 2010”, the Asia’s premier offshore wind energy event which is launched in 2007, is to be held on June 2010 in Shanghai again. It is the only event featuring on offshore wind energy which is co-organized by Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA) and Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd (SIEC)
China possesses 1,000 GW reserve of exploitable wind energy (250 GW on land 750 GW off shore). With the advantages of comparatively low cost and existing conditions for large-scale exploration, the development of wind energy is currently the best option for China’s energy strategy. China’s coastal provinces, where are rich in economy but short of energy, have the ambitious plans for offshore wind farms.
“Offshore Wind China 2010” is born to meet the need of market where the decision-makers, technical experts and industry professionals gather together to learn about China’s market, policy and projects, to present the latest technology and innovation, and to develop new business opportunity. Offshore Wind China is committed to promoting sound development of China’s offshore wind energy industry.
It is our great pleasure to invite wind energy equipment manufacturers to exhibit products and technologies at “Offshore Wind China 2010”, and to call for international academics, commentators and experts to actively attend the conference which will provide an ideal chance for delegates to meet and share information.
Offshore Wind China 2010 is Asia’s first exhibition featuring on offshore wind power. This exhibition offers an ideal platform where the decision-makers, technical experts and industry professionals gather together to learn about China’s market, policy and projects, to present the latest technology and innovation.

China is regarded as one of the richest countries in offshore wind resources, whose mainland coastline is about 18,000 kilometers – the fourth longest coastline in the world. At 10 meters’ height, the offshore wind resource is estimated to be 750 million KW, among which 100 million KW is in the 10 meter depth waters. With the nation’s 40% population, the coastal area is the most developed area in China and also the largest consuming market for electricity.
The first Chinese offshore wind farm in Shanghai went online in 2009 as a demonstration project, followed by further ambitious plans to build more offshore wind farms in the costal provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian,Guangdong and Shandong. It is estimated that Jiangsu province will establish the offshore wind farm with the total capacity of 7GW and Zhejiang province of 2.7 GW by the year of 2020. The development of offshore wind power has a huge potential in China.
