Clean Coal China Conference 2010

From 2010-12-09 to 2010-12-10

To Vigorously Develop Clean Coal Technology is an Irresistible Trend.

The sustained and rapid growth of Chinese economy has propped up its demand for energy. As a dominant energy source in China, coal makes up around 70% of the country’s energy consumption. Owing to its high production and low price, coal is unlikely to be replaced completely in the decades to come. It is projected that in 2020 coal will still account for half of China’s energy supply.

China’s clean coal technology being nascent, the environment has been scathed by the hefty carbon emission. Global warming and environmental pollution will pose grave threats to the very existence of humankind. To address this issue, economic boom at the cost of the environment must transform to sustainable development based on scientific and technological innovations. Before 2009 Copenhagen Climate Conference, Chinese government had promised to cut the country’s carbon intensity by 40%~45% by 2020 compared to the 2005 level. If such an ambition is to be materialized, China will need to not only develop alternative energy which will cost more, but also invest trillions of Chinese yuan in clean coal technology between 2011 and 2020 - the market will be vast.

Clean Coal China Conference 2010 will be convened in Beijing, China on December 9-10, following a bonanza of previous gatherings on clean and alternative energy including 2010 China Nuclear Power Industry Summit, 2nd 2010 Wind Power Industry Summit, 4th Asia-Pacific Coal Trading & Investment Outlook 2010 and so on. This event will highlight the hot topics associated with China’s clean coal market, and explore business opportunities for relevant industries in the perspective of global warming and sustainable development. It will bring together over 100 prominent guests such as leaders of public agencies as well as coal and power companies, clean coal technology and equipment suppliers, solutions experts and scientific researchers, among others. This will be an arena where the delegates elaborate on the latest policies, showcase trend-setting technologies, and present their specialized solutions.
