China and Denmark in new energy and environment initiative, Danish Ministry of Climate and Energy

Release Date: 2009-05-04

The Danish Embassy in Beijing and a number of Danish companies are to enter an agreement with Vanion, one of China's largest developers

Financial daily newspaper Børsen reports that the Danish Embassy in Beijing and companies taking part in the Danish energy and environment initiative Green China, are to enter a collaboration agreement with one of China's largest developer companies, Vanion, which focuses on eco-cities.

This agreement will help a wide range of Danish suppliers of green energy, energy-saving products and environmental technology to be involved in major building projects in northern China – an area with hundreds of millions of people.

Vanion specialises in finding and developing building sites before construction projects are implemented either by Vanion itself or other developers. With the agreement, Danish companies get a chance to offer their products and services to developers a lot earlier in the process than is possible today.

Green China was launched by the Danish Embassy in Beijing in autumn 2008. The aim is to strengthen the competitiveness of Danish energy and environmental companies on the Chinese market. The initiative involves company promotion in six Chinese provinces with growth potential and interest in energy and environmentally friendly solutions.
