Suntech Joins PV Recycling Program

Solar cell and module manufacturer Suntech Power Holdings (NYSE:STP) has joined PV CYCLE association, an international voluntary recycling program for used PV modules, the company announced May 7.
PV CYCLE, founded in 2007, covers around 80% of the European PV market, according to PV CYCLE Managing Director Jan Clyncke.
As significant installation of PV modules, which have a 25 year life-span, began in the early 1990s, full-scale recycling is still another 10-15 years away, according to the statement.
