Guodian to Invest 40 Bln Yuan in Xinjiang Energy Projects

China Guodian Corp. has signed a deal with the Xinjiang government to invest 10 billion yuan in energy projects in the northwestern autonomous region this year.

Guodian said it will spend a further 30 billion yuan from 2010 to 2015.

The investment includes building an additional 5 million kilowatts of power station capacity by the end of 2015, and developing coal mining in the Turpan area, power transmission stations in Yili and the eastern Junggar Basin, hydropower and environmental projects at Ebinur Lake and renewable energy projects.
