Vestas China and Fujian Investment Group Adding 34 MW of Clean Wind Energy for Fujian Province, Vestas

New order from first-time customer for Vestas’ industry-leading turbines Vestas, the world leader in wind energy, has received an order for 17 V80-2.0 MW wind turbines for China Fujian (Pingtan) Wind Energy Company which is a subsidiary to Fujian Investment Group.
The turbines are for the Pingtan Aoqian wind farm project, located on Pingtan Island in the eastern part of Fujian province. The contract includes supply and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system and a two-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery of the turbines is planned to take place in the fourth quarter of 2009.
This marks Vestas’ first sales agreement with Fujian Investment Group. As the investment arm of the Fujian government, the company is becoming a pioneer in wind technology investment and development, playing a pivotal role in Fujian’s progress as one of the key provinces for the wind energy industry in China.
