Europe fears a private US-China agreement, COP 15

The American reluctance to accept firm near-term goals for cutting greenhouse gases will be tested this week at the Major Economies Forum in Italy.
Generally the Obama shift in attitude towards climate issues is welcomed by EU countries, as it gives hope that the United States will take a leadership role in global talks toward a new climate-change treaty.
