State subsidies offered to households installing a new heat pump, Danish Ministry of Climate and Energy

Release Date: 2009-07-22

As part of a Danish Energy Authority research project, subsidies are being offered for the installation of new heat pumps so that their efficiency can be measured

Danish householders who live outside areas supplied with district heating or natural gas are being given the opportunity to apply for a state subsidy to install a new heat pump, reports the Danish Energy Association in its daily newsletter.

As part of a research project being conducted by the Danish Energy Authority, subsidies are being offered for the installation of new heat pumps in 300 'test homes' so that their efficiency can be measured. The project has been commissioned in connection with a decision taken as part of Denmark's current energy policy to promote the most efficient heat pumps and ensure their correct use.

The results of the project will be used in association with a coming general information campaign, as well as in energy efficiency labelling of heat pumps, so that the best advice is made available to users concerning choice of pumps and their optimal utilisation.
