IPCC chief backs ”350” target, COP 15

Rajendra Pachauri endorses more ambitious cuts in greenhouse gas emissions than called for in the 2007 IPCC report on global warming.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) chairman, Rajendra Pachauri personally supports calls to keep atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations below 350 ppm (parts per million).

"As chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) I cannot take a position because we do not make recommendations," Pachauri told AFP in an interview.
