Sunways AG: World premiere of the new high-efficiency solar cell ´18+´, Sunways AG, Photovoltaic Technology
Release Date: 2009-09-07
As well as the world premiere of the new, high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cell ‘18+’ , the innovative system provider from Konstanz presents an efficiency-world record for central inverters in the 30 kW class to coincide with the launch of the PT 33k model: 97.8% for the devices from the Sunways PT series. In addition to the NT 3700 with a maximum efficiency of up to 98%, the new re-engineered NT 10000 will be on show for the first time.At the 24th EU PVSEC Sunways AG will present the new high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cell ‘18+’ for the first time. The new generation of Sunways OutputPlus+ cells achieves an efficiency of actually 18.2%, which means that there will be a new output class for Solar Modules in the future.
In the Sunways central inverter range, the PT series (Performance Technology), the new PT 33k will be available from 2 November to complement the established PT 30k. In time for the launch Sunways was able to increase the maximum efficiency of both units to 97.8%, which represents a new efficiency world record in the 30 kW class. In addition, the compact device is able to compensate reactive power while offering full active power. This series also sets standards with its wide voltage window and a maximum DC voltage of 1000 V.
The new re-engineered NT series sets a world record: With a maximum efficiency of up to 98% it supplies constant and consistent yields in any situation. In addition to improved efficiency the new units also offer enhanced interconnection options through an extended voltage range. A new graphics-capable display and the Sunways Browser with integrated alarm function make the units particularly installation- and service-friendly. The units are designed for use throughout Europe. With their integrated DC switch and all-in-one philosophy they leave nothing to be desired. The NT series already meets the requirements of the new Low and Medium Voltage Directive. The NT 10000 will also be on display for the first time at the EU PVSEC in Hamburg. The new units from the NT series up to 5 kW will be available from 2 November.
“The Sunways innovations at EU PVSEC 2009 underline our number one position in the field of technologically and aesthetically mature innovations for solar electricity production,” said Jürgen Frei, Sunways AG Marketing and Sales Management Board. “In line with our brand promise, ‘An answer ahead’, each new development in our comprehensive product and service portfolio is targeted towards optimally meeting customers’ requirements today and in the future.”
