Ramboll strengthens offshore services, Ramboll

As part of its continuous strategy for growth, Ramboll has started 2010 by acquiring the engineering company QA Consulting in Esbjerg, Denmark. The acquisition of QA Consulting will significantly strengthen Ramboll's oil and gas services within maintenance of offshore installations and unites specialised knowledge on oil and gas projects into one major consultancyThe acquisition of QA Consulting strengthens Ramboll's services regarding maintenance of offshore installations significantly. In the future, Ramboll hopes to be able to offer maintenance on existing facilities and documentation for new installations as well as specialised knowledge on rotating equipment. The synergy effects are clear: Ramboll will provide complete services on offshore projects with maintenance as a new service in its portfolio for the benefit of the customers.
As the two companies share many of the same customers, these will for the future only need one stop to get the entire palette of offshore engineering consultancy services. This will reduce costs and several interfaces on projects with numerous consultancies.
The acquisition of QA Consulting is only the first step in a major strategy for growth for 2010-2012 within the oil and gas area. Ramboll's ambition is to grow to double strength in this area in the coming three years, doubling its present oil and gas staff of approx. 700 employees by 2012.

However, during 2009 Ramboll has been closely watching the development, while eager to move on.
