The nominations in the category “Environment” are given to companies not only characterised by having a green vision but for also having gone beyond offsetting its carbon footprint to considering sustainability on a broader front.

The award ceremony on February 25, 2010, at Tate Modern in London will be hosted and presented by The Financial Times’ Editor Lionel Barber.

The nominees have been chosen by a jury of distinguished judges, among others Editor Lionel Barber; CEO, ArcelorMittal, Lakshimi Mittal; Dean, INSEAD, J. Frank Brown; Managing Editor, The Financial Times, Daniel Bogler. The nominations have been made on the basis of the company’s strategic intent, execution and results.

The jury has searched for boldness around the world, and the award features candidates from Europe, the US, the Middle East and Asia.

”We are proud to be the only Danish company nominated for such a prestigious award – and to stand out among the world’s companies within climate and environment; fields of high importance. It is a great recognition of DONG Energy’s transformation towards a low-carbon energy production. The nomination is clear evidence that there is support for what we are doing – also outside the Danish borders,” says DONG Energy CEO Anders Eldrup.
