New CEO in DONG Energy Germany, DONG Energy

In the past two years, Matthias Wendel was member of the management team of E.ON Hanse Vertrieb (E.ON's sales company in Northern Germany) and responsible for more than 160 employees and the sale of electricity and natural gas to private customers and small companies in Northern Germany. Before then, he was CEO of Stadtwerke Wedel for four years which is one of DONG Energy’s good customers.

Matthias Wendel will report to Torben Mønsted, Senior Vice President in DONG Energy.

Matthias Wendel’s position also includes the responsibility of DONG Energy’s sales to distribution companies in Denmark and Sweden. This means Matthias Wendel will be responsible for employees located in Hamburg, Leipzig and Hørsholm in Denmark.

”I’m convinced that Matthias Wendel will be able to develop the sales of our gas and electricity products to distribution companies, especially in Germany. He brings with him an extensive network in the German energy sector, not least among German Stadtwerke, and the experience and knowledge necessary to run and develop sales activities”, says Torben Mønsted.
