At the end of 2008 an agreement on the establishment of a joint company between kk-electronic (Denmark) and CSIC Chongqing Qianwei Instrument & Metering Factory (hereafter CSIC-Qianwei) has been signed in Chonqing.

With this new company kk-electronic and CSIC-Qianwei will jointly operate China’s first dedicated company for developing and manufacturing control systems for wind turbines. The establishment of this “wind energy company” plays an important part in kk-electronic’s plans to expand internationally. kk-electronic see the partnership with CSIC-Qianwei as a great opportunity to establish a base for the emerging and lucrative Chinese market. At the same time, kk-electronic will be able to offer Chinese windpower industry significant experience and control systems characterized by Reliability, Quality and Functionality: Three crucial factors, when the ambitious Chinese plan for windpower shall be met.

Signing of the agreement is of great significance for further development of CSIC’s investments in the wind power industry. Further to the CSIC-Qianwei engagement CSIC has also set up the company CSIC-Haizhuang (also based in Chongqing), which will be manufacturing wind turbines for the Chinese market.

Tommy G. Jespersen, CEO: “This co-operation will be mutually beneficial for both parties as well as the Chinese population. The rising demand for environmentally-friendly power in the country is well-known, and wind power is an excellent source: It is fast and easy to install, and it is producing power without CO2-emissions.

kk-electronic’s foundation in 1981 was based on the development of a control system for the first modern wind turbine, and we have ever since launched numerous innovations to increase efficiency and reliability of our solutions. kk-electronic is therefore a company, which will be able to assist in developing the utilization of Chinese wind power.

We have a strong focus on technologies and solutions, while our partner, CSIC-Qianwei, has a detailed market insight and manufacturing capabilities. Combining the two parties’ competencies is the background for the co-operation and the new company.” Already now, more than 100 employees are working in Chonqing with the purpose of servicing the Chinese wind power market.

Tommy Jespersen further adds, that such cooperation would help pave the way for achieving the target of providing power to each household in China. And – in fact in a way that is in accordance with kk-electronic’s overall vision: “Control systems for Clean Energy, Clean water and Clean Air”.
