Release Date: 2009-03-04
The Nordic Council of Ministers has launched a new website to promote the region's expertise in sustainable energy solutions
The Nordic Council of Ministers has launched a new website to promote the region's expertise in sustainable energy solutions, writes the Danish Energy Association in its daily newsletter. The project is part of the Nordic globalisation initiative that forms the basis for a renewed collaboration on climate, environment, research and training.
The head of the collaboration on renewable energy under the Nordic Council of Ministers, Jørgen Calundann says: "The Nordic countries have long traditions for sustainable energy production and that gives the Nordic region a unique opportunity for being a leading exporter of renewable solutions. A collaboration between the countries gives the region a greater international impact."
"A joint information campaign will further increase the interest for Nordic solutions and spread the knowledge of Nordic expertise among decision-makers looking for sustainable solutions to the energy and climate problem", he says.
The project is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers and coordinated by Nordic Energy Research on behalf of the Working Group for Renewable Energy.
Representatives for the Nordic energy authorities and ministries have been actively involved in the development of the website together with other relevant working groups and institutions. The website will be expanded and also include solutions in energy efficiency.
