Release Date: 2009-03-18

Former US Vice President Al Gore believes the world will reach a global climate agreement at this year's UN climate conference.

Al Gore, the former US Vice President, is convinced a global climate deal will be reached at the UN climate conference in Copenhagen later this year.

"I actually think we will get an agreement at Copenhagen," he was quoted as saying in The Guardian.

Gore believes that the support of world leaders, including US President Barack Obama, as well as many business leaders, has given the climate issue political momentum and brought the world to a "political tipping point".

"There is a very impressive consensus now emerging around the world that the solutions to the economic crisis are also the solutions to the climate crisis," Gore was quoted as saying.
